Chitika eMiniMall plugin for WordPress

Over at x74 you will find a great WordPress plugin for Chitika ads. With a few glitches :

  • the file in the zip archive is a DOS/Unix conversion mayhem
  • the plugin allows only one Chitika ad per post
  • Chitika ads generated are not Adsense compliant by default

So I have made an quick update of this great plugin.

Download the new plugin here : eMiniMall.phps (open and copy content in a blank file in your plugin directory)

Chitika eMinimall (affiliate link) are now Adsense compliant : no search box, no contextual product targetting. You can also insert as many ads in your post as wished. Happy shopping !

I’ll mention another Chitika plugin for WordPress that may be worth trying (haven’t tried it myself) : [CA] Chitika

The plugins works well, with the exception of 1 small gotcha that had me stumped for a little while. When I copied the xontents of the file, I accidently included an extra blank line after the end php section (after the ?> ). This meant whenever I tried to activate the plugin I got error messages halfway down the screen. After deleting the blank line it worked great thou. Thanks

When I click the button in my Write panel, nothing happens. I’ve installed it several times to make sure I’m doing it right. I think it must be something peculiar to my setup, like a plugin conflict, but I’ve tried deactivating all the likely suspects and nothing helps.

Is this something you’ve seen before? Any suggestions?

Entering the tag manually does work, but it would be nice to have the button functioning.

Beta Candy : sorry, I can’t help, there is obviously something wrong on your side. Isn’t it a browser / javascript problem ? Did you try another browser like Firefox if you are using IE for instance ?

    Hello!

I installed WordPress on my server, and set up a site. It’s a relly nice piece of software. However, I am missing a piece of functionality, and

couldn’t find a suitable answer for it. Mayou you know a plugin I could use?I need to automatically inserts ads in my posts. And not AdSense ads, but rather HTML snippets defined by me (affiliate links, etc). Let’s say I would insert a tag in my post:
    — ad here —
and the plugin would automatically replace it with some HTML code, when the post is displayed on my site.I really don’t need any fancy configuration options etc, just the basic replace functionality.
Do you know a plugin that can handle this?
